In these figures each complete journey solution and route timetable provided are counted as an enquiry. More detail
Where route timetables can be requested these typically account for 25% of enquiries.
Where only visitor session figures are available these have been multiplied by 1.5 to give an estimate of the number of enquiries. Figures from some regions indicate that the true rate of enquiries per visit may be higher which, if confirmed, would give higher totals.
The population figures are from the 2001 census. The regional totals are adjusted as follows to give the totals for the traveline regions.
