How is this site being organised?

Peter Stoner is adding material to this site in his role as Regional Coordinator of traveline. The idea for the site was agreed at his appointment. The preliminary set up was raised at the traveline Data Management Working Group on 4 May 2005.

Please send any ideas for what should go on the site to Peter.

How reliable is it?

Peter has a number of years of experience of public transport data processing and will try to use that to ensure that the information given is soundly based. Nevertheless please avoid quoting the site as a public source of information. It is intended as a behind the scenes resource for those working on public transport data processing.

Keeping the site up to date is important but there are limited resources to do so. Therefore the approach taken will try to minimise the need for changes on the website and rely on external links to information that may change. These links will need to be regularly checked. Please report any links that do not function as you expect.

Material may appear in draft for checking and comment prior to being moved to more public sites. Any information like this will be clearly marked.

What steps are being taken to protect the information?

If this site is to be useful it is probably best kept easily accessible without the bother of having to remember passwords. If necessary this may limit the kind of information that can be put on the site. A lot of the information referred to is already available on the internet. This site will just bring the links together to help you find it. Sometimes the external information is password protected and where this is so information will be given about how to obtain access.

Contact email addresses

To try to reduce spam email contact of regions is via the traveline contacts page which hides the email addresses. Other email addresses are embedded in javascript so that they are missed by most email harvesters.
